Anita Willets-Burnham, a fundamental bohemian and renowned faculty member of the School of Art Institute in Chicago.
For the entire year of 1921, with her family of six in tow, handmade rolling suitcases, and signature black cape and pith helmet, artist, Anita Willets-Burnham toured the world. Often, instead of offering money for lodging and food, she would, instead, offer a sketch or drawing. Willets-Burnham found the trip so delightful, she brought along the family (which included four children ranging from an infant to a teenager) for a two-year world tour in 1928.
Colorful, hand-finished frontispiece entitled "Chinese Wedding Boy" by the author's daughter, Carol-Lou.
Floral cloth binding
Warm inscription by Willets-Burnham on the front endpaper.
